住在東京的矢野敦和凱兩兄弟是台日混血兒，台籍父親始終想帶著全家人一同回故鄉尋根，夢想還沒實現、自己卻先病倒過世。沒想到兩兄弟第一次到台灣，居然是跟著媽媽將父親遺骨送回台灣中南部安葬。改編自芥川龍之介短篇小說，將原作大正時期的伊豆改為現代的台灣，電影藉由一段未知冒險旅程啟發出少年的心靈成長。
