原蘇聯革命歌曲「紡織姑娘」是西安紡織廠合唱團的拿手曲目。合唱團成員李麗發現自己身患絕症，面對所剩不多的生命，她決定到北京找十年前的戀人，詢問他為何調到北京後從此失去音訊，了卻這段感情心事。曾以《圖雅的婚事》摘下柏林金熊獎的王全安再度出擊，社會現實與情感掙扎的交互拉扯間，細膩刻劃出一名女工面臨絕症的人生波瀾。
The young textile workwoman Li Li with restive and smart character, a member of chorus, was diagnosed to have the incurable disease. Facing the sudden strike and the limited life, Li Li chose to travel and settle her own problem after the pessimistic suffering.
