隨著攝影機的緩緩移動，我們進入孩子們的世界。電玩遊戲「第四代屠龍戰紀」剛上市，大家全都專注地拼戰打關，即使有謠傳，一旦破關就會遭到不幸…。宛如八○年代版的《囧男孩》，市川準在這部早期作品中，以透徹的觀察、低調極簡的敘事，結合廣告影像式的蒙太奇風格，細膩入微的社會關懷與精確的場面調度，也奠定了他個人風格的獨特標記。

Based on a novel by Seikou Ito, No Life King tells a story about schoolboys who addicted to playing video games, and have become seriously estranged from the real world. No Life King quietly juxtaposes the colorless, regimented reality of these boys' school with the bright, violent world that has taken over their collective imagination. Ichikawa shows his concerns for a world that has lost its balance.
