導演和攝影前往藏區，為即將拍攝的電影尋找扮演王子智美更登的演員，走訪了無數跟藏戲有關的村莊寺院。導演相中一位扮演妃子的女孩，但女孩一直蒙著臉不讓別人看見，並提出要同行去找她前男友。全片均以藏語拍攝，並採傳統八大藏戲中的「智美更登」戲碼為源頭，將愛情奇譚、故土風光與佛教文化結合成一幅迷人的藏族風情畫。

A film director is accompanied by his friend to find an actor and actress to play the roles of Prince Drimé Kunden and Princess Mande Zangmo. In a village known for its Tibetan opera performance, the director finds the girl, an ideal candidate for the role of princess.
