面臨過氣危機的舞台名伶，因為極度的不安全感，在排戲過程中惹惱所有工作人員，難搞至極。然而當一名忠實戲迷意外喪生，讓她的生活陷入更誇張的混亂，首演當晚，她終於在揭幕前酩酊大醉、徹底崩潰…。卡薩維蒂與吉娜羅蘭在片中飾演對戲的演員，兩人台前幕後的親密關係，使得演出層次更加迷離曖昧，堪稱表演魅力滿載的經典之作。

Witnessing the accidental death of a young fan accentuates the inner turmoil of a beautiful actress. She is forced to question the validity of her relationships, and finally resolves the dilemmas which confront her at the core of the play she is involved in, which parallel the basic realities of her own existence, from which she has heretofore fled, aided by alcoholism, men, professional indulgence and fantasy.
