「我們為什麼不唱自己的歌？」1976年的淡大禮堂，李雙澤對著台下來聽西洋歌的聽眾問出的這個問句，喚起了臺灣流行音樂產業數十年繁花盛開的盛世。本片引用大量珍貴史料與經典歌曲，遍尋歷史中每個轉折的關鍵人物，從姚蘇蓉到鳳飛飛，從張艾嘉到胡德夫，從楊弦到李宗盛，彷彿時間倒轉，一起回到那個勇敢唱自己的歌的年代。
"Why aren't we singing our own songs?" Lee Shuang-Ze raised the question which trigged the flourish of Taiwanese pop music culture in the next few decades! This documentary gathered large amount of historical information together with classic evergreen pop songs, in search of each of every key figure, person that made the history. It's like travelling in a time machine that brings us back to the golden era when we were brave to sing our own songs.
